Editorial methodology

This site depends on saying what it knows and what it does not. Here is the full procedure: who writes, which sources rank highest, what we never publish and how a correction is handled.

Who publishes this

Piso de Juego is an independent editorial publication about land-based casinos in Mexico City. It is not owned by, invested in or operated by any gambling company, and it does not accept payment to change an assessment or to remove a warning.

Articles are signed by the Piso de Juego editorial team. We do not use fictional bylines and we do not attribute work to invented experts: when a text is the work of the newsroom, we say so.

Source hierarchy

When two sources disagree we do not average them. We apply an order of priority and we leave the disagreement visible on the affected page.

  1. Official operator communication. Venue directories, notices and promotional terms published by the brand itself. This is the first reference and the one we cite.
  2. On-site signage. Minimum-bet signs, priced menus, access and parking notices seen at the venue and dated.
  3. Direct enquiry. A call or a question at the venue whenever the fact affects money or travel. We record the date, not the name of the person who answered.
  4. Our own observation. Visit notes taken in comparable time slots. They describe atmosphere and service; they never establish a figure.
  5. Third-party comments. Reviews and forums only help us spot a question worth checking. Volume does not turn an opinion into a fact.

If the contradiction cannot be resolved, both versions are published and the point is flagged as pending. A declared gap is better than a false certainty.

What we never publish

This is a drafting rule, not a statement of intent. A text that breaks it does not go live.

Undated variable figures

Opening hours, table minimums, fees and parking rates are not published as numbers. We explain what to ask and whom to ask.

Payout percentages or streaks

They cannot be verified from outside the venue. Any such figure online is, at best, an estimate with no source.

Our own rankings and scores

No ratings, no «best casino». Comparisons run on criteria and the conclusion stays conditional, by visitor profile.

Invented reviews or testimonials

No fictional user opinions, no photographs that expose other visitors, no quotes attributed to people who do not exist.

Money and advertising

The site is funded by affiliate links. A commercial link carries rel="sponsored nofollow", opens in a new tab and always sits next to a notice stating that the operator's terms apply and that access is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.

The editorial rule is simple: the presence of a link never changes a conclusion. If another venue serves a given profile better, we say so, even when it is not the linked one. And no page exists only to carry a link: every URL has to answer a question that would exist without it.

The terms of any offer, including a bonus tied to a promo code, belong to the operator and can change without notice. This site does not administer them, does not guarantee them and takes no part in their fulfilment.

Updates and corrections

Every page carries its review date in the header. Hours and access are reviewed periodically and before public holidays; announced promotions and tournaments need a shorter cycle because they expire sooner.

When a condition stops being available it is archived rather than left standing as a claim. When a fact is corrected it is replaced and the date is updated; if the error affected a spending or travel decision, the change is noted on the page itself.

Any reader can request a correction through the contact page, and so can an operator whose details appear here. Every request is reviewed; those that come with a verifiable source are accepted.
